We'll go to the Waterfalls of the River Clyde, which is a Wildlife Reserve and has a scenic woodland walk alongside it. It's quite a good long hike and truly Scottish scenery.

Highlights

  • Being right in the heart of nature, you cannot get closer to it than this,
  • with lots of picturesque waterfalls, the place is teaming with wildlife,
  • different types of birds singing all around and if we are lucky.

Description

We'll take you to this amazing place of a gorge of the River Clyde, where waterfalls come after waterfalls and even when you think you have seen it all, there's more. The Falls of Clyde is a Wildlife Reserve, an UNESCO World Heritage Site in Scotland with breathtaking scenery, a beautiful woodland walk, where you can hear birds chirping from everywhere and if we are lucky enough we'll see some badgers or even otters enjoying the surroundings just like you or me. There are over a 100 species of birds who live here, including dippers, ravens and kingfishers. The woodland walk does need good guidance throughout which takes you alongside the gorge and we can even take you to the other side of the river, which is less known and gives you a better view of some of the waterfalls. Some parts of the walk take more guidance than others, as you might end up taking longer on the hike if you don't know the place as much as the locals. Plenty of lookouts where you can stop and take photos and take lovely memories with you or if you get a bit tired, we can definitely takes some breaks, so you can catch your breath. This is quite a long hike, about 3 hours, so you'll get lots of exercise. Other things to note: This is quite a long hike, over 2 hours long, so you'll need to have some energy for it. If someone gets tired, we do take breaks and you can even decide to stop alongside and wait for us coming back.
